Katie and Nick live right outside New York City, so when we were deciding on a location for their engagement shoot, we were scouting places that would not only be a beautiful setting but something a little more discreet. After realizing what a challenge that would be in the big city, we decided to meet early in the morning in Brooklyn!
Jon and I met with Katie and Nick for their shoot in DUMBO, right under the Manhattan bridge! It was a Saturday morning- perfect for shooting because there weren’t a ton of people walking around to get in our shots, and the weather was absolutely perfect. They have both been taking dance lessons to prepare for their wedding, so when I asked if they would dance in the street, they jumped right in with zero hesitation! We walked along the water and wound up at Jane’s Carousel which overlooks the East River. Katie fell in love and didn’t want to miss the opportunity to get some unique shots in this historical carnival ride, and I’m so glad we did!
We had the best time spending the morning with Katie and Nick! These two are getting married in one month and we are so excited to capture it! Head over to Katie’s blog to read more about her wedding plans (and get the best style tips!) and check out some more of our engagement shoot’s here!
